  2. Sensible Home Journal has been developed with the home
  3. user in mind, and has been designed for ease of use
  4. and flexibility.

  6. If you use this program for more than the 30 day
  7. trial period, we ask that you register it. Send us
  8. a copy of register.frm with the registration fee and
  9. we will send you the latest registered version, along
  10. with a complete user's guide.

  12. It's also easy to register this program with
  13. CompuServe. Use GO SWREG.

  15. The following system requirements are needed to run
  16. Sensible Home Journal:

  18.     * IBM Compatable PC, 286 or better
  19.     * MS-DOS version 5.0 or higher
  20.     * Windows 3.1 installed
  21.     * At least 2.0 MB of system memory
  22.     * At least 2MB of free disk space
  23.     * Enough disk space for journal database files

  63. About Sensible Home Journal

  66. Sensible Home Journal records and stores information in a
  67. database, in the form of disk files. You can store
  68. these files anyplace on your disk that you choose.
  69.  
  70. There is online help with the program that you can use
  71. if you have trouble getting started. We recommend that
  72. you read the help when you are getting started with your
  73. first database.

  75. Backup Procedures
  76. -----------------

  78. Due to the irreplacable nature of the information that
  79. is recorded in Sensible Home Journal, we recommend that
  80. you back up your data regularly.
  81.  
  82. This will work best if you keep your journal files
  83. under the size of a diskette each. This may be 360K,
  84. 720K, 1.2M, or 1,44M, depending on your diskette drive.

  86. To make a backup of your journal database, you can use
  87. the DOS copy command, to copy database files to diskettes.
  88. If something happens to your hard disk copies of your
  89. journal databases, you will have a  backup to go back to.

  91. Picture Files
  92. -------------

  94. Sensible Home Journal provided the ability to store 
  95. pictures or other external documents, and associate
  96. them with journal entries. This most likely takes the
  97. form of scanned-in photographs.  We can also provide
  98. scanning services at a reasonable cost if you would
  99. like to have some photographs scanned. Contact us for
  100. more information about scanning services.
